The Protagonist is controlled by the player. They are light-skinned, maroon-haired, and seemingly young, and wear a blue shirt and brown shorts. Many things about them are unknown, including their gender, age, name, and motivation. They may not even be human, as implied by The Elder when he refers to them as "Another lost Soul" (note the capitalization).
They are armed with a bow and a single arrow, which they use to slay Titans. They are able to collect their arrow from the ground after firing it, as well as pull it back to their hand telekinetically. They can somersault to cover short distances quickly, and sprint to cover long distances quickly.
